Now, although everyone wants to be out hiking, swimming, cooking, etc., periodically, you have to sit down around a table and learn. Of course, with every badge, there is some paperwork. Here are the guys in the Administration building taking a class.

Camp Bowman - Goshen Scout Camp 2009 (Set 3)

Each night, all of the troops in the camp gather around the parade field/flagpoles for a closing ceremony with one Troop responsible for the lowering of the colors. All troops are required to bring their troop flag.

After the lowering of the colors, there are a variety of Camp announcements, such as the Troop with the best campsite (which we took the first night), contest winners (which we swept), changes to the program, etc.

Ever wonder what a Scout sleeps in at summer camp? Scouts sleep in a wall tent on a platform. Two Scouts per tent. What do you notice across the road?

Here is one of the patrol dining areas. Mr. Kelley and the gang are getting ready to head down to the waterfront.

Here is the other patrol area. Looks like they are getting lunch ready. Yum, yum.

Here we are at Camp Bowman. This is a photo of the leader area and beyond it, one of the patrol sites.

The Year...1955

In 1955, the number of Scouts inched up to 35.

Of those, there was one Life Scout (Francis Martorano), one Star (John O’Donnell) , seventeen were Second Classr, and six were First Class.

The oldest Scout in the Troop was 14.

The Year...1954

For some reason, the number of Scouts had dropped to 31.

Of those, eleven earned the rank of Second Class and five were First Class.

The Year...1953

There were 43 scouts at the time of registration.

By the second year of existence, three of these Scouts earned the Rank of Second Class, and one was First Class. All of the others were Tenderfoot.

The oldest Scout in the Troop was 15.
