"Best of the Boy Scouts" Outdoor Kitchen Dinner (2012)

 

For many years, St. John the Evangelist (our sponsor) held an annual fundraising dinner in the Fall.   For a number of years, the Boy Scouts would do something to help our sponsor.  It was our way of saying "Thank You" for being our sponsor.

In 2012, the Troop offered anyone in attendance at the annual dinner to have the troop leaders cook dinner.  That item raised $700 for our sponsor that evening!

The winner (Joseph Barone -- Asst. Scoutmaster) had the troop leaders cook dinner for his wife's birthday in June of 2013.  

Here is the "certificate" for the dinner.

Yes, these was not only a flag but also a song.   Having these sorts of items, after 50 plus years, is a wonderful example of Scouting in the 1960's.
