December 2022 Court of Honor (Part 1)

 

The December 2022 Court of Honor presented a number of ranks and merit badges to our Scouts.  Some badges went back to 2021, as the pandemic put a damper on these events.  

We were pleased to have Fr. Calis, our sponsor, at the awards portion.

 

 

Helping Decorate the Church for Christmas

 

A couple of Scouts and parents were kind enough to assist with helping to decorate the Church on Sunday, December 18th.  Here are some photos from that event.

Chrismas Tree Sale 2022 Update

 Unfortunately, the Boy Scouts of Troop 466 will not be able to sell Christmas trees this year. 

Trees are still in short supply due to drought conditions and reduced planting by growers over the past several years. We approached multiple vendors but none are able to provide a sufficient supply of good quality trees. 

We greatly appreciate your generous support and hope to resume our tree-sale tradition in 2023. If you have any questions, please contact us at  ncactroop466@gmail.com.

A Scouting Fundamental: Lashings

Goshen - Troop of the Week (Summer 2022)

 

Goshen staff rate each troop, each day, on their site.  How clean it is?  What have they done to improve it? Etc.   It looks like this year, Troop 466 won the Troop of the Week for their week.  They get to add something (a picture, a token, etc.) to the "trophy," which is passed on to each winning troop. 

 

 

Goshen - Flag Retirement or Disposal Ceremony (Summer 2020)

 

One of the things that many Boy Scout troops are asked to do, is to help "retire" or dispose of old, worn out American Flags.  For those who do not know, you simply do not burn them but there is usually a ceremony which takes place around this.
