Assisting with the Pack 23 Recruitment Drive

Troop 466 assisted with the Pack 23 Recruitment Drive on Saturday, Sept. 9th from 1pm to 4:3pm.  St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church is located in downtown Silver Spring, MD.

The troop display consisted of tents, a campfire and a cooking station.  Blueberry cobbler was on he menu.   Approximately 60 children and 20 adults turned out for the event.  In addition, two other troops participated in the event.

Note that we completed an Eagle Scout project a few years ago there, and as you can see in the first photo, it is still there.

Thank you to all the Scouts and the Leaders who participated.

Heading off to Summer Camp Bowman (Goshen)

On Sunday, July 9th Scouts and Scouters from Troop 466 headed down to Goshen Scout Camp.  Here are a few photos before they left.  (Apologies, but I know I missed a couple of Scouts and leaders but I had to leave and took whatever photos I could.)

June Court of Honor (Part One)

On Monday, June 26th, the final meeting/Court of Honor was held.  We had a nice turnout, but because schools had been out for over a week, many were already on vacation.

Luke's Eagle Scout Project (Part 3)

Although a great deal of work was completed on Day One, there was still more work to be completed.  So on the second day, the two main backdrops were painted and the movable door was put together.

Luke's Eagle Scout Project (Part Two)

Here are some additional photos from Luke's Eagle Project.  Here we see two of the Scouts installing the castors at the bottom of the frames.  The frames were probably 30lbs pounds, the wheels were rated for 100lbs.

Luke's Eagle Scout Project (Part One)

After getting his Eagle Scout Project approved by the Potomac District Eagle Board Chair, work was undertaken on Sunday, June 4th.

The project was to build three mobile backdrops for the St. John School Auditorium Stage.  Two would be just backdrops and the third would have a door.  This could be used for plays and productions.  It should be noted that the door could also act as a backdrop.

So, here are some photos from the construction.  In these photos, they are cutting the 2x4s for the backdrop frames.
