Scout Sunday 2022

Unfortunately, the turn out for Scout Sunday 2022 (Feb. 13th for our sponsor) was not very good.   Not certain if it was due to COVID, the weather, a late notification, or a combination.

Nevertheless, Fr. Calis (Pastor) was very gracious and welcoming.  He specifically thanked the Scout leaders for all their efforts.

Report to the Governor (1967)

Before the internet and emails, news at the Council and District levels were sent out as newsletters via snail mail (aka US Postal Service).

The NCAC Scouter Weekly Digest (March 27, 1967) highlights the REPORT TO THE GOVERNOR at the State House.  Patrick O'Connell made the formal Council Report to Governor Agnew on Feb. 13th.  Afterwards, the group toured the Naval Academy at Annapolois.

The 1931 Model A Roadster

Here is a photo from 1965.

Mr. John Creeden (Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster) had a 1931 Model A Roadster.  It seems that he would let the Scouts go around St. John's School in it.  The young man behind the wheel is Jack Creeden.  The young man above the rear view mirror is Pat O'Connell.

Thanks for his family for sending this to us.

Note: Remember, this is from 1965 and that there were many things which were considered acceptable in those days, which are not allowed today.

Troop Meeting - Valentine's Day

Even the Scouts of Troop 466 got into the Valentine's Day spirit at the February 14th meeting.

Mr. Creeden's Farewell

When Mr. Creeden left the troop, there was a farewell party for him.  Based on the image of the window in the photo, it seems to have taken place in the Kennedy Room.

Here he is with Mrs. Creeden.

Thank you for your service with Troop 466!
