BTOW17: Mount Wasburn

It had been many years, since the troop hiked up to Mr. Washburn.  So, this BTOW we did.   Most of the troop headed up, but some of the adults headed up part of the way and then back.

BTOW17: The Campfire!

After the Hancock Dinner, we had a traditional Boy Scout Campfire.  Each patrol had to sing a song, and put on a skit.  Even ASM Joseph B. got up and told some bad jokes!

BTOW17: Hancock Memorial Dinner

One of the traditions of Troop 466 is the Hancock Memorial Dinner, hosted by our former Scoutmaster, Dr. Dan.   The troop has come off the day before of the one or two night overnight, and this is the chance for the troop to celebrate with a feast.

This year was a bit different, as Dr. Dan was not with us on the trip due to illness.  It was not quite the same.

BTOW17: A Slow Morning

Not every morning was a rush to get up, eat breakfast and then head out on the trail. Sometimes, we got up a little later and had a hardy breakfast.  Enjoy!!

BTOW17: Granite Canyon (Part 3)

The next morning, we woke up, ate breakfast and had a couple of visitors:  a Moose (mother) and her calf.  There was a very well established animal trail, just outside of the campsite and it seems they were just as startled as we were, when they came down the trail and saw the guys cooking breakfast.  They then trotted off across the river to the other side.

On the way up, we spotted a black marmot getting some sunlight.  Wouldn't you know it, on the way the the darn thing was taking sun in the same exact spot!

BTOW17: Granite Canyon (Part 2)

Well, after a couple of hours of hiking up Granite Canyon, we found a site marked "campsite" and decided that this would be it.  We were all tired and wet.   We made camp, ate dinner and then went to sleep.
